Help with Paint in a room filled with doors
Hi everyone. I never realized there was a forum here but i have loved AT house tours over the years! I am moving into a sublet where i’ve been given free reign to paint — and for a first project i’ve got my sights set on the entry area which is big by city standards but essentially a room of entryways into other areas and…

Living room layout
I recently moved and the living room has this weird layout. I need advice which type of furnitures and sofa I should get, the layout placement of the sofa. I'm gravitating towards cozy/contemporary. I need a small tv center, it is for my mom when she comes to visit (often). The other room is the bedroom in which the…

🛁 Big ideas in a bijoux 2.5m x 2.5m bathroom
This room used to be all tiled surfaces, cramped fittings and wasted potential. We started with a full replan - aiming to fit both a @bathshack freestanding slipper bath and a double shower into just 2 .5m x 2.5m without compromising character or comfort. ✨ The trick was to steal space where we could: A bathshack corner…

Decluttering Cure 2025 - Tasks & Discussion
The Decluttering Cure is back, and we’re doing it together right here in the forum! 🎉 Decluttering doesn’t have to mean an all-day marathon — sometimes it’s just clearing a stack of papers, tackling that junk drawer, or giving one shelf a reset. Those little wins really do add up. Starting September 22, 2025, we’ll kick…

One Good Thing: Cotton Waffle Coverlets as an Essential Layer
About three years ago I stayed in really nice hotel in Jamaica called Goldeneye. It was originally Ian Fleming's home in Jamaica where he wrote all of his James Bond books over 13 years. After he died it was eventually bought by a friend's son named Chris Blackwell, who did many things (including starting Island Records -…

Designing with wall-to-wall carpet :(
Hi all, I bought a 1BR condo in LA, and while it was pretty much turn-key, the one downside of the unit is that it is wall to all cream/beige carpet (aside from kitchen and bathroom). It was in really good condition (the previous owner was OCD) and I'm trying my best to also keep it clean (no pets, thankfully), but I have…

Help me choose between two rugs!
I'm trying to choose between two similar (but different 😂) rugs to complete a living room look. Would love some help choosing between Options A and B below. Other info if you're curious: the wood on the cream chairs is a little darker in real life than it looks in the pictures, it's more the same color wood as the coffee…

Share your summer highlight ☀️
I’m just as excited as the next person for fall (bring on the cozy vibes!), but can we pause for a sec and give summer its moment? What’s one thing you did this summer that you absolutely loved? It could be a trip, a project, a small daily ritual, or just a moment that stuck with you. Big or small, I want to hear your…

BATHROOM REMODEL
Greetings! Redoing an old long bathroom; removing shower and tub. New, much larger shower with floating bench no tub. What Color Shutters for My White House?
Hi! One of my shutters got blown off this morning in a windstorm, which is finally going to force me to replace all of them. The previous homeowners installed ones that were too short so it's been on my to-do list anyway. I'm wondering what color I should get for this house, and also whether or not I should put them on the…

Front Porch Ideas?
Hi! My poor front porch is in need of some assistance. I plan on trying to power wash the brick and generally cleaning it up. But any ideas for giving it more curb appeal? I was kind of thinking about painting the alcove walls and maybe even painting the tile in front of the brick?

What type of paint do you use when upcycling furniture?
Chalk, oil-based or water-based? I find that water-based paint tends to wear off on heavily used pieces.
