Recently sanded these beams down to their natural beauty. Question is should I paint them white to make the room appear wider or brush a honey oak stain to match the floor or use a clear urethane?? Thanks f0

The only time I like seeing them painted is when they're in a fun, unexpected color like red or yellow—but that probably isn't the vibe you're going for here! How do the existing beams feel to you? Do you like how it looks right now, or do they feel off to you? Also, are you changing the wall color or anything else in the space? Just curious so I can paint the full picture for myself 😊
They look good to me and my wife definitely wants to keep them as is el natural but I was toying with the idea of painting them but at least want to stain them if I don't paint them white. The blue wall paint is there to stay!
