Re: January Cure 2026 Discussion
I look forward to the January Cure every year. I rarely make it all the way through but what I have been able to do in previous years has made a big difference to how I feel in my space. But several spots that were “cured” in previous years need another reset. I appreciate the bite size approach - something can be accomplished even if I only have half hour. This year the Cure starts on my birthday so I’m treating it as a birthday present to myself. Doing a 10 day collage course during the same 2 weeks, which will be an opportunity to use up and organize some of the many many papers and art supplies I have accumulated.
Re: Spring Cleaning Cure 2025 - Tasks & Discussions
I just took the trash can out of my kitchen and use grocery sacks. I take them out every day. Saves stinking up the kitchen.
Re: Spring Cleaning Cure 2025 - Tasks & Discussions
This is a great how to - but I object to your recommendation for "washable rugs". "Washable rugs" is code for synthetic; ie: plastic. We all need to purchase and use far less plastic and with so many options for (generally better quality) rugs made with natural fibers - which are also often machine washable - it's wiser for your health, and that of the environment's to steer away from synthetics.
Re: Spring Cleaning Cure 2025 - Tasks & Discussions
Reclaiming the fridge is the task I need to do most. Our fridge is oversized for the spot it’s in and so the door can only open about 90 degrees so it has to be pulled forward to open enough to remove drawers or shelves. It’s very tight between the counter and the wall so pulling it out is a two person job (and even then difficult). Long story short, I have put off pulling out the drawers for way too long. There are some mummified blueberries under the bottom drawer I really need to get to.
Re: My entry nook needs SOMETHING
For your entry nook, it would be best to move the bar cart to the living area, as it would be great for hosting. You can add a slim table or a shoe rack and definitely include some decor with that art piece its fabulous and ofc a few hooks. Adding some plants or flowers would also work well.
Re: House Tour: Every Piece Is a Statement in This Designer’s Sunny Toronto Loft
Well said. All community has gone from this site. I'm still reading my daily post but with no sense of engagement as we all loved reading the comments. Without the humour of the comments it feels that at least half the articles are just ads, half of the remainder are repeats and one or two a day are fresh. The sense that we had friends and kindred spirits here has gone
Re: House Tour: Every Piece Is a Statement in This Designer’s Sunny Toronto Loft
Thank you for your answer.. First of all, the fact that there's no immediate access to the comments frustrates me - I often find myself giving up searching for comments on a tour because I can't spot the tour. Also, I liked the fact that I could immediately see how many comments a tour got. 3rd -I don't need getting notifications every time someone comments on a tour that I have also commented - it's tiresome. 4rth, the previous page design was easy to watch. Why destroy sth succesfull?….
I guess that after months with the new setup, if people liked it they would comment like before. Instead, I see very few comments. That means it's not working. We've lost some very interesting commenters on the way. That's why I say the change disolved the community rather than enhanced it.
Pardon my english, as I am Greek! Kind regards

1st: I predict that this tour will be fantastic!
2nd: I really hate what you did with the comments… We totally lost the community in here. But I guess the world is against people forming communities in our dreadful days..
