Re: January Cure 2026 Discussion
It's day 9! We've officially almost made it through our second Cure week ⭐️
Today we're hitting pause on styling and letting the living room breathe. Clear out the non-essentials (think small decor, extras, visual clutter) and stash them away for now. What was the first thing you took out that instantly made the room feel lighter?

You know what day it is… Clean and treat, aka day 10! Pick any task—catch-up, quick win, or something you’ve been avoiding—and then absolutely bribe yourself with a treat afterward
What are you tackling this weekend, and what’s the reward you’re dangling? 😌
Re: My workspace is a mess, and I’m fixing it. Join me?
Yup.. it's a mess, but I'll be honest with you, I find that the cords are almost insolvable and when I've tied them up tightly or hidden them away in the past, I then need to go in and undo it all when I add or subtract a new item. My solution is to live with the cords and must make my desk top as nice as possible.
Simple things to do, and I'll include a pic of mine, is just tidy up and get a nice desk lamp for that dark corner - or just move it forward and turn it on more often. Yours is almost more of declutter and then add anything you WANT to look at besides your screen.
Also, I have a laptop for travel and moving around, but use a small Mac mini with a Samsung gaming screen at home and office. It's not crazy expensive and I love my desktop situation AND it looks pretty nice too.
Best of luck and any more helpful folks here today?
Re: January Cure 2026 Discussion
The Mood Board exercise persuaded me to replace my loveseat with a sleeper sofa. Today I removed 3 decorative fabrics (2 quilt squares and a shawl) from my living area loveseat, vacuumed and cleaned the couch cushions & replaced the 2 decorative pillows. I realized that the loveseat looks much nicer in all its mid-century glory without the extras. This brief reset helps reinforce my current preference for simple clean lines in furniture.
Re: January Cure 2026 Discussion
We have so little in our house that is purely decorative. Space is at too much of a premium. So focused on the continued tidying, reassessing.
Knitted blankets that I had been piled up on a couch after washing and drying have now been sealed up in bags and packed in containers and put away until next winter.
Also cleared coffee table - always seem to be be a spot where random stuff seems to collect.
Re: January Cure 2026 Discussion
I am rearranging my living room. I took everything off the wall. Thinking I may not add everything back. I am liking the simpler look.
Re: January Cure 2026 Discussion
I cleaned out the medicine cabinet. I threw away expired meds (and made a list of what to replace) and a bunch of other unused things, scrubbed, and organized. It's a remarkable change, and I'm hoping to be pleased by it every morning.
Re: This 125-Year-Old NYC Apartment Has a Bathtub in the Kitchen — But It Totally Works
Easy to do with the buttons below… I DO find the best way to grab a photo and then upload it is to screenshot it on my Mac.
- Press Command-Shift-4
- Press Space.
- Move the camera icon over the window you want to take a screenshot of.
- Click the window or a separate app to capture it.
- The window will be grabbed, along with its drop shadow, and placed on your desktop.

I dusted and straightened every picture. How do they get so disordered?
Re: January Cure 2026 Discussion
This was always the hardest task for me. I would be so meticulous that it would be overwhelming. But each year I did this, my List became shorter. It became the most fulfilling task for me. Now that I have moved into an apartment I get to do this here for the first time. happy dance
