Re: House Tour: This 'Lifeless' Lockdown Apartment Is Now Colorful and Cozy Thanks to 95% Thrifted Deco
More horrifying is a mirror hanging above a bed.
Then again, a mirror hanging opposite a bed where you can see yourself when you get up in the morning can also horrify.
Re: Before & After: This “Totally White and Plain” Bathroom Gets a Cozy, Colorful Makeover for $80
If you're happy, that's all that counts, I'm happy for you.
I like white, never too much white for my taste. A set of brightly coloured hand towels and a coordinating mat, and, yes, a larger something hanging on the wall, a mirror over the sink is a must for me, and Bob's your uncle as far as I'm concerned.
Re: Community replaces Comments?
Hi @phyllisc4075 — I’m so glad you found your way here 💛
Yes, this Community Forum is where article conversations now live. We’re hoping it allows for more open dialogue, like the rest of the discussions that have been happening here over the past year. Right now, we’re prioritizing dedicated discussion threads for select House Tours and Before & Afters, which will often include the homeowner popping in to answer questions. If you come across a story that doesn’t yet have its own thread, you’re welcome to start one! Our moderators can then add the photos and details from the article so others can join in easily
We’re continuing to improve how this works and really appreciate everyone’s feedback as we learn and fine-tune the process. Don't hesitate to reach out with questions as you get acquainted. Thanks so much for checking in and being part of the community!
Re: Rules for commenting perhaps, or no comments
I totally agree — comments have been getting nastier and nastier — I can't imagine anybody who's ever read the comment section deciding to have their apartment featured. Why be cruel, people?
Re: House Tour: This English Edwardian Is One of the Coolest 120-Year-Old Houses I’ve Ever Seen
I absolutely love how personal and vibrant this home is, and I adore the disco balls. That being said, if I had taken a drink at every piece of word art, I would be in the hospital.

For drying herbs? Towels? Big pink bows that get wet?
Re: Comment procedure changes
@heyjudith I’m really sorry this change has been so frustrating. I completely understand how disorienting it can feel after years of being able to comment right under the articles. I promise the team does care and we’re actively working on making this process smoother and more intuitive
To answer your questions: the Before & After you’re referencing sounds like this one, and that discussion would live under the Before & After category here in the Forum (where House Tours would live under the House Tours category). If you don’t see a thread for a discussion yet, that just means you’d be the first to start one. You can include the story link or a short description when you post, and our moderators will make sure it’s connected to the right article
We know it’s not as seamless as it should be right now, and we’re already exploring ways to automate this process so you won’t have to go hunting for the right spot. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out if anything feels confusing. I’m more than happy to help you navigate! x
