Paint and decorating advice - 1913 rowhouse

Hi there! Had a few questions about some decorating stuff and hoping the creatives here could help :)

I painted the wall behind the tv and sides of the fireplace in the family room a dark blue - other people haven't liked the blue and I get it but we like the blue. I am going to put a mirror to bring in some light from the window and cover the utility box on the left side and wanted to do two floating shelves on the right side (and possibly above the utility box to balance because the shelves need to be that high on the right side due to a crawl space door), but I wasn't sure about color given they would be in between the mantle/brick and the stairs which to be all different colors. Not sure which color wood to choose. See photo attached.

Also a decorator friend suggested using the same blue paint color on the wall behind the dining table. What do you think? See photos attached. Or should we pull the blue all the way around the the living room with the blue and keep the rug and couch light colored?

Additionally we wanted to paint the mudroom area in the back of the house but wasn't sure what to choose since you can see the mudroom straight away from the front door. Don't want there to be too many colors and any clashing. Someone suggested just painting the door in the blue since the door is strange not being wood (as all the white baseboards which I don't know why the previous owners did that when they kept all the original wood trim upstairs).

Hey Jennie! As a color consultant, I'm excited to hop into this dilemma 😉 When I'm creating palettes for other people's homes, I do like to pull certain colors throughout the house so it feels like there's a connection from room to room. If you pulled the navy blue from the living room into the dining area, that would help tie things together. That being said, you don't need to use this exact blue on every wall! Are there other colors that excite you? How do you want the dining room to feel compared to the living room? I like to tie my color choices to the feeling I want to experience in the space. I love the light that your mudroom gets. I would personally go with something brighter to contrast with the blue in your palette, but that's just me! Can you share more photos of the mudroom?
