Small bar space in design limbo

My 1974 ranch house included a small wet bar space. Due to budget restrictions, I am limited, but I wanted to do something fun and add personality to this lackluster space. I was thinking of adding a maximalist style print wallpaper with a high gloss complimentary color for the cabinets, but I would love/welcome some other ideas.

(The picture shows a chaotic space of my partner's pilings, so be warned).

Maximalist wallpaper and high gloss paint sound great! Do you have any options you're eyeing for the wallpaper? If you didn't want to budget for wallpapering this entire room, it would be cool if you wallpapered the inside of the cabinet shelves and painted everything else. Contact paper also goes a long way if you want to switch the look of your countertops at a lower cost. What about a vintage tiny sink to swap for the silver one you have now? Make it a statement rather than an afterthought!

Thank you so much. I love these suggestions! Oh, the wallpaper inside is a fun idea (especially with some of the patterns I was looking at. It would prevent it from being overwhelming), too. I didn't think about contact paper for the Formica counters. That and a new sink would make a huge impact. I had my eye on the following prints but my analysis paralysis is getting the best of me.

Oh wow, these are stunning! The Songbirds one is my favorite for the color and print. But! I fear that if you do this inside the cabinets, you won't be able to see the birds fully. Seagrass would look great inside the cabinets. After seeing this, though, I really think Songbird all the way would look incredible in this room! It's a small space, so I don't think it would be too overpowering, even if you did the whole room. Ask yourself what you love about the inspiration photos you have, and maybe that will draw you closer to deciding whether you want to go smaller impact by wallpapering the inside of the cabinets or go all the way

YES! Songbirds is also my favorite, so you helped me so much by sharing your ideas. I will do the entire space and then use the saffron color ( or maybe one of the colors from the pattern) for the cabinets. Thank you, Daniela!
