Re: House Tour: This Outdated 1950s House Checked None of Their Boxes — Now It’s the Dreamiest Home
Lovely home, beautifully done. However…
BRING BACK THE COMMENTS SECTION ON EACH HOUSE TOUR! IT MAKES NO SENSE TO SEPARATE THE DISCUSSIONS ABOUT A TOUR FROM THE TOUR ITSELF!
Re: House Tour: This Outdated 1950s House Checked None of Their Boxes — Now It’s the Dreamiest Home
Half (if not more) of the fun of AT was reading the comments, and looking for specific commenters who always had something pertinent (or just pert) to say. I find myself not reading AT very much any more. I'm not sure they thought this all the way through.
Re: House Tour: It's Hard to Believe This "English Country Cottage” Is Actually a Rental in Arizona
Very nice! I agree with @mikaMTL that it does not look like it belongs in Arizona.
And
"I really believe every home needs a mix of old and new to create depth"
Is something I truly believe, too. All vintage, and you have a fusty museum in your hands; all modern, and it's a showroom.
On a different subject, apparently AT's old comment section is gone forever. I thought they were just going to port all comments to the Community Home page, but the old comments are gone, and there is no way to post anything new on older stories.
Re: House Tour: It's Hard to Believe This "English Country Cottage” Is Actually a Rental in Arizona
Yes the shift to community forum is SO disheartening. I guess AT is trying to reduce the likelihood of rude comments, or at least how publicly/widely they are available, but the change feels like the OPPOSITE of building community. And the deletion of previous comments is appalling. No reputable site that I visit (Domino, NYTimes, etc.) has ever done something like that. A small part of me is surprised that it's legal to do erase thousands of little conversations, but I guess AT is a for-profit company that owns our 'user-generated content' and can do what it wants with it. :(
Re: Before & After: An IKEA BILLY Hack Turns This Dingy 1970s Room into a Dreamy Home Library
This is definitely an improvement. I really like the wall color; I almost chose it for my dining room about a year ago. Maybe it's something about the lighting, but the floor colors don't play nice with the walls; I hope the contrast is pleasing in person.
On an unrelated note, I am not wild about the new commenting format. I'm afraid that a lot of the long-term members of the community may drop out because of it. The comments are often the best part of the feature, and I sure would miss hearing from many of the folks here.
Re: Before & After: This “Totally White and Plain” Bathroom Gets a Cozy, Colorful Makeover for $80
Nice and cozy. And only for $80. Just needs a mirror though for a guest to check their look. Maybe on the opposite wall across from the sink. Or on the door?
Re: Before & After: This “Totally White and Plain” Bathroom Gets a Cozy, Colorful Makeover for $80
LOVE this color and have considered it for a project before! I bet if you painted the ceiling it would make it even more cozy (I love a tiny color-drenched room!), but it looks fabulous ❤️
Re: House Tour: This Artist’s Tiny NYC Studio Is Proof You Don’t Need Much Space to Live Beautifully
It's funny but actually do usually keep myself to the small/cool definitions of "tiny" and "small" but this one just felt like it would be really tiny if it hadn't been designed so well, if that makes sense! But I do hear the feedback on the adjectives. It's important!

That paint color is beautiful and unique. I don't think I have ever seen anyone use it before. I think it's a great choice for a reading room since it's so relaxing. This is definitely an improvement to the dark room that it used to be. I'm impressed with the craftsmanship that went into this by 2 people who aren't even professionals at it, especially the flooring. The end product is lovely, charming, and cozy. Well done!

So cozy and inviting. Especially the window bench.
