Here's how I stylized my shelf, it serves as a link between the living room and the kitchen with both books, souvenirs, travel objects and dishes.
It also makes it possible to hide a huge unsightly radiator...

I love my IKEA Elvarli shelves in my living room. They are actually made for displaying shoes, but I love that I can lean my books flat like you would see in a bookstore and combine them with regular flat shelves for styling. My dog looks unamused, but I think she approves too 😂
