Heat Pump
My apartment is 805 square feet. My furnace works very well. The AC was rebuilt in 2020. My air conditioner works very well. BUT…
The air conditioner can't keep up in the hottest days of summer. Not by much but it's getting a little harder each year. Plus…
I like to can foods in the summer which increases the heat I need to remove from the apartment. So…
I'm looking at adding a single small Heat Pump to the mix. I have a friend who just moved into a newly built apartment with three heat pumps installed. They're wonderful but the space was also designed for them. My apartment was, no joke, designed by the developer's teenage grandson. In the early 1970's. (Based on the design, the kid didn't take out the garbage.)
So my big questions are about the effectiveness of one heat pump in this situation. I have two wall locations I can use for installation. One has a direct line into the kitchen. The other would vent air across the breakfast bar. Or do I need to consider a whole house heat pump installation?
