looking for a way to waterproof a scarf and a shawl so I can use it as a Table Runner

    Hi @Khairun! wow — what an awesome idea! I'd love to see photos of the scarf and shawl! there's some tips on weather proofing indoor furniture to be outdoor-friendly. maybe you could test out waterproof sprays, like Scotchgard?

    Yes post photos! I want to see what you're working with too. I think Scotchgard would work great, and Lowes/Home Depot also sells an adhesive protectant you can use on fabric. I haven't tried it but there seem to be a few options!

    Scotchgard is the first thing that came to mind for me, too! This is kind of an old school solution, but can fabric be laminated the way that paper can? Then it would be wipedownable, but you'd lose the softness.

    This is such a smart idea @Khairun ! Echoing everyone's thoughts above to try out Scotchgard. Perhaps test it on a small portion first before committing to the whole thing.
