Stainless steel countertops?

Hi there,

My husband and I are about to extend on our London flat, which means we will be designing the kitchen from scratch. It will be open plan with the living/dining room. We are avid cooks and entertain a ton. We are considering stainless steel worktops for all/some of the kitchen as we like an industrial look, but is that insane to have in a home? Will we spend the rest of our days wiping down surfaces?

Maybe 😆 but if you love them, will it really bother you? There are a lot of benefits to stainless steel worktops if you're a big cook, primarily because of how easy they are to clean. I do think you could achieve the industrial look without them though. What do you think of butcher block or concrete?
