I have a spare bedroom 12x12 and want to repaint and make it my personal zen space. Will use as a spare bedroom/ office space.

Need to repaint. Have a few pieces of furniture. Thinking of a light green color but what do you suggest? What type of decor can I use for this room?

Green is great for adding some zen to a space! If you're up for the challenge, I also love peel-and-stick wallpaper to add some character to a room. You could do an accent wall or the ceiling for a fully enveloped look. I suggest finding a big lush rug to ground the space, maybe a burnt orange color to pair with the green walls. Get table lamps and floor lamps with warm bulbs to make the room feel cozy. Since this is a spare room, I'd really think about how you intend to use the space while guests aren't there and then design the room around that. You mention using it as an office, but what else? Do you like to read? Maybe a bookshelf and deep lounge chair for a reading nook. I can totally see the possibilities!
