Advice for the layout for my art studio space

Hey everyone wanted to ask if anyone has advice for this space. Apartment living, open concept for the kitchen and living room - part of which I turned into an art studio space.

I need some more workable table space - right now I struggle with the flow and don't feel it works right now. I'd love for it to feel cozier and homier. I'm not sure if I should add a desk where the plastic table is or centralize the working space by getting rid of the 'computer' desk I currently have.

I was also thinking of adding a chair and a half (one i can lounge) where the plants are but that's lower priority.

Can move all furniture / rug / plants. Open to selling and buying pieces, low budget (probably ikea, maybe world market level unless it's perfect for the space.). Storage I've got handled.

@DanielaAraya Hey thank you for replying! Was working all week but finally can share. See the pictures below! Floor plan is missing the small extra wall next to the counter - the floor plan is open concept to the kitchen bar area.

Hey @Devon2465 Cute space. I love all the room you have here, in this open concept space. With that said, you have some great color going on in here. I'd personally try to elevate some of that functional color from your floor and couch, up onto your walls with some paint and fabric to soften your work space and bring it back into the rest of the room itself. I would suggest painting an area of your wall from one side of the window around to the other side of your windows (but not all the way up to the ceiling) to begin your color story. You can pull that same color up onto the ceiling in a diagonal pattern, that would float one wall to the other wall, drawing much needed attention back into the other side of the living room and kitchen space again. This is a great way, to make your space look bigger and bring it to life in a whole new way. I would use a contrasting color to bring out a secondary color that will make your furniture and rugs pop. Try using one of these Sherwin Williams colors, like SW6304 Pressed Flower, SW 6297 Rose Embroidery or SW 6388 Golden Fleece (derived from your rug and other artwork currently in the space). The new color will add a new dimension to your work space, which will act more like its own room, within the room. After you paint, it will give you some more perspective as to how you want to work within that space as well. As an artist, only you know what your needs really are, when you are using this space. I'd offer the insight of an old dresser that you make over for additional storage, for paint, brushes, canvas, pencils, and more. And I'd try to hang a few of your plants and offer a vignette in the opposite corner with your plants to elevate them and pull some of your artwork in to that area to keep telling your artist story. All in all, keep lifting things up into the space, while framing it to become more of YOU, in that space. Enjoy your artist journey!
