Getting ready to Move

Hi! I live in a very cluttered 3 bedroom and 2 bath, 1200 sq foot apartment. I want to declutter and pack. I move on March 20th, 2025. What is the easiest and fastest way to declutter, organize, then pack? I have difficulty letting go of things and my home is overflowing with things jumbled together. I am paralyzed by overwhelm. Where should I start first? I need to come up with a plan quick! I have chronic fatigue, other health issues that limit how much I can do, a child with ADHD who also has too many things, and can't afford help with any of it. Suggestions?

Hi Kathleen! You've come to the right crew for advice. A lot of us here have struggled with letting go of things and most recently supported one another through Apartment Therapy's Decluttering Cure. You can check out the original thread here if you care to read through past comments, but the idea is that you will achieve a tidier home in just two weeks with this program. Plenty of time before your move! This page shows all the daily tasks, and you can totally go at your own pace. I recommend starting with the first task: set up three outboxes, which serve as a catchall for the items you'll need to toss, reconsider, or give away. Take it slow to avoid overwhelm. We're here when you need us!
