How do you organize deep shelves in cabinets and closets?

I have a pantry cabinet with shelves that are 11 inches deep and a closet in my bathroom with shelves that are 26 inches deep. In both places, it's hard to organize items in a way that you can see everything or easily get out what you need. How can I organize them so I can actually find things and not have food or items disappear into their depths?

Oh I know what you mean! I have a couple of cabinets that are too high/deep for my liking. What if you used something like this to slide out of your cabinet/closet and see everything better?

You could try Storage boxes and Closet boxes, they are great for all the clutter and looks good too!

I'd use various containers, trays, and even baking/cookie sheets and/or pans to store things in/on so that you can easily pull things out easily. You could even have two containers on a cookie sheet with the most frequently used items in the front container and the more rarely used items in the back container.

  • Lazy susans; larger and smaller. With some of them, you can make two levels.
