I actually think these are WORSE or as bad as moths. I got married late in life and my husband insisted we live in his century old house instead of my more modern home. As my home was vacant except for all of my furniture, furnishings etc. I took a few things (clothes) and allowed my home locked but unattended, essentially just storage. BIG MISTAKE! Somehow, these wee bugs got into my house. I had lovely large wool rugs as I was no longer vacuuming they were FEASTING and multiplying. Meanwhile, I realized that I didn't want to live the rest of my life in an old drafty house, so I didn't make it as cozy, and pointed out to him how much nicer it would be to live in my house. It worked, but it took TIME. He finally gave in, and we returned. The damage was heartbreaking. I am vacuuming, like a she-devil ,I captured a couple of the tiny beetles and took them to a pest exterminator asking could they be bed bugs? He laughed and said they ARE carpet beetles. (They bite humans too!)
No, I haven't hired an exterminator yet, I am doing a deep clean scrubbing down every inch of this house and trying some natural less toxic for humans products, and praying. There are less of them already, but as far as I'm concerned ONE IS TOO MANY. Doing a lot of PRAYING too! I have asthma, and the professional products are detrimental to my breathing.
