I liked this article! It was helpful and upbeat in tone.
Under the section about candles and room sprays it also mentioned simmer pots which I’ve always meant to try. Since I am sensitive to lots of spray fragrances I think I will actually do this one today! Whatever I have on hand from the recipes in the link to simmer pots.
I would also like to add a few ways to have a nice smelling home!
6. Replace air filters regularly. Another no brainer one, but sometimes we forget when we last changed these! Also helps your HVAC work more efficiently.
7. Clean the reusable air filters in your vacuums, or replace the single-use ones! Also helps your vacuums work better.
8. Pooph or other scent removal spray for soft surfaces like inside shoes, couch cushions, curtains, etc.
9. If you clean with vinegar but don’t like the smell, switch to citric acid! A powder from your grocery store often used when canning foods.
10. Coffee grounds absorb bad odors and also smell wonderful. I like to put little sachets of coffee grounds in the backs of closets and drawers that don’t get opened often that get that stale smell of stored linens.
Anyone else have additional ideas? :)
