Living room layout/rearranging

I like the 2 chairs at either side of the fireplace but the 2 couches are too long to put together. I think my only option is a new couch or just leave it as is. I will include several pictures from different places in the living room. We use all even though there’s just 2 of us. First 2 pics are older the last one is current, placement has not changed. And I’m considering painting the brick on the fireplace a whitewash. Posted here also

Hi @dharmadm7219 — It's so cool to see more of your space, specifically that sunshine-y yellow I just adore! How often are you watching TV and does it bother you that one of the sofa backs are facing the TV? Also, if you're using everything in the room, is there something about the space that isn't working for you? I think the main issue I see is that you have too many seating options (and I say this with love because I have so many chairs in my space too!). If you're in a position to buy a new sofa, it would look nice to get a L-shape that creates a nice zone around the fireplace and TV area. You would need to move the chairs around (or you could potentially fit one within the zone). Here's a little sketch of what I'm imagining…

had to laugh that you like that sunflower or golden rod color we’ve had for years. I’d like a switch to a creamy white. The L shape will not work as it would block a way through the living room. We did something like that with the 2 open end couches We do use the tv in there at times and no the couch in front doesn’t bother me (nor does it block anything for remotes in the cabinet )except I don’t get to see the cabinet. We really do use all the seating especially when there’s company and obviously donot watch tv. It’s a fine arrangement. I’m just bored with it. I thought perhaps a couch where the 2 chairs are (had this before see below) but I love my denim and these were expensive though old I’m still open to suggestions. Is it too weird to have open ended couch where the 2 chairs are ? Just switch those? Mmm I think I’ve done that also. 🤨🤪😆 yep it’s much like your drawing but open. Maybe switch the couch and chairs that are opposite each other? Ignore the dogs please 🙄

And then there’s that stupid thermostat thanks for allowing me to think it out here and for your suggestions still open to more I may move things around tomorrow while husband is at an appointment 🤣
