Just curious about the $1,000 cost, as it seems like the only update was paint?
Paint, accessories, light fixture, knobs, some molding to go around the mirror/vanity and some other odds and ends that add up.

This is a really lovely change!
Go ahead and change out the water fixtures to brass! You have a mix of metals already. You could also paint the tile on the pony wall next to the toilet, either black like the cabinet above the toilet or the gorgeous main cabinets colour, as little yse means the oaint will wear well. Love the shower curtain too.
