This is an amazing place!! love your Japanese art and the Chinese frame above the bed. Your dining room lap is looking great and that bathroom vanity!!! wooot! I feel for you especially with a smallish bathroom. The sink looks so smart!
This is lovely, but how do you read in bed? By candle light?
Love everything about this place, especially the family heirlooms and he little hair shedding doggo
Those armless upholstered chairs convey a lot of the personality of the house - which is quite distinctive.
I absolutely LOVE this house. I love that the past has been given a seat at the table here, in such a beautiful and meaningful way. STUNNING home with such a great backstory.
Lovely, just lovely. A wonderful balance of style and warmth and interest.
Nicely done home. What I really came here for, though, is to ask about the comment section. Where'd it go? Why? I don't like this new setup at all.
Wow, this design is absolutely amazing! So many homes end up feeling flat, like they’re either too old-fashioned without the appeal or too new without any personality. But this home has this incredible warmth that’s hard to find today. And those little details like the bedroom candles really tie everything together beautifully. It’s apparent the designer didn’t just stop at a single room or furniture piece but really understood how everything meshes into a single comprehensive design throughout!
Thank you for sharing your home with us. Choosing to keep your family heirlooms made your house tour even more special. If you ever need to have your "speaker" repaired, we Boomers used to call what you have high fidelity (or hi-fi) stereo consoles or record players. Thanks for the memories, too!
Could be a Kindle!
I love love love campaign style furniture and that it's a persistent theme in this house. Classy and comfortable at the same time.
Such a beautiful home. I'm trying to picture how those two bedrooms are connected by a doorway, and wish there were more pictures of that part of the house, as the description of the flow back there is intriguing. Which entry to the larger bedroom was closed, and how? etc. I love the respect shown for family heirlooms here, and how much they enrich the space, including the vintage Singer sewing machine as entry table. Sweet doggo as well!
Bravo for embracing your home's quirks and history! I could really feel the love from the way she described her family heirlooms and the process of making something that didn't check any of the boxes into a dream home 💛
Also, Tate is such a star! I love the comment about the muddy paws and dog hair being part of the palette. I have a senior Basset Hound who is quite literally all over my house, between the hair, her belongings, and the artwork my husband and I commissioned of her. Our dogs really are part of the family
Lovely home, beautifully done. However…
BRING BACK THE COMMENTS SECTION ON EACH HOUSE TOUR! IT MAKES NO SENSE TO SEPARATE THE DISCUSSIONS ABOUT A TOUR FROM THE TOUR ITSELF!
I agree. It stinks.
What a georgeous home! Loved the designer's ability to incorporate vintage heirlooms into a modern day living space. This home looks spectacular! This designer has done an excellent job in this 1950s home.
