This is definitely an improvement. I really like the wall color; I almost chose it for my dining room about a year ago. Maybe it's something about the lighting, but the floor colors don't play nice with the walls; I hope the contrast is pleasing in person.
On an unrelated note, I am not wild about the new commenting format. I'm afraid that a lot of the long-term members of the community may drop out because of it. The comments are often the best part of the feature, and I sure would miss hearing from many of the folks here.
I like the lighter wall treatment and the unique treatment of the hardwood floor—half wood stained and half painted which definitely took patience to achieve plus seal it to keep it that way. I also appreciated all the bookshelves lining the walls and the only change I would have made to the room would have been to add a nice comfortable chair or lounge settee to enjoy a comfortable read.
Thank you! I don't know if I can link a picture here. We have my grandfather's sitting chair in the corner. https://onedelightfulhome.com/blog/2024/3/14/our-library-reveal?rq=library

Thank you! Yes - I think it works in person, but appreciate your thoughts!
Katie!! 😍😍 I am loving this burl wood side table, too.
Thank you Sarah!
Judith, I agree. Plus the comments both good and bad are the probably one of the best parts of the posts, and provide lots of revenue clicks besides.
Just doing a better job of moderation should be the next step!
I don’t want to see people have to count their words and only be sweet for fear of being cancelled.
@heyjudith Oh how fun about the paint color! Was it Ben Moore's Smoke or something similar to it? And thank you for your feedback on the commenting format. We're still working out the kinks and refining our format. I know this is a departure from how it has been done, but the last thing we want is to lose any members out of this. I hope you stick around as we continue to improve the process!
Well, this looks like the coziest corner! @katiebowling did you use the same paint finish for walls, doors, and trim? I love seeing it from this angle
@katiebowling I can't believe how luxe the bookcases look now! I was just looking at the breakdown on your blog, but I'm so visual that I'm craving a video of how this all came together. Did you document any of that? How did you make the shelf above the window? Was that a DIY with wood or did you also use an IKEA base? What about the cabinets at the bottom of each side?
Absolutely 💯 stunning! Wow...so gorgeous. And I love the IKEA hack!
You two worked so hard to create a welcoming space that is functional and blends the old with the new. SO glad you left the original door!
It was awesome that you were able to attach a picture of your cozy and warm reading corner!
Thank you!
