I need ideas as to how to use / decorate this alcove
Hi @lauren5560 👋 I love all the light that you're getting from this window. Can you tell us more about this room? Is it your primary bedroom? What does the rest of the room look like?
I agree, we need to know more about this space. Is it part of another room? There is so much light coming in it’s beautiful. I’m thinking of a reading nook or maybe if you work remotely, a work space. Knowing where the space is situated and what you like would be helpful.
I so LOVE this space as well!! The window is a perfect setting for several rooms. I can see this room as a fantastic office with a peaceful atmosphere and lighting.
A serene bedroom with a reading corner or just a relaxing piece of furniture to lounge. A great coffee nook or a library setting that you could incorporate along with your office..
A beautiful nursery, if littles are involved.
I think lighting is a key factor as far as cozy or relaxing for any room you decide but this room is breath taking and enjoyed in so many ways.
A gorgeous dining room with opened space is a relaxing meal with a wine nook.
So many choices and a hard decision for whichever you decide but can’t wait to see which way you decide.
Enjoy and show completion of your decision , please.
I'd put a built in daybed in front of the windows, it'll always come in handy and will get a lot of use.
That's a rather beautiful window (junk that curtain rail), with a nice outlook (prune that tree), perfect for relaxing/waking up with whatever your chosen drink and companion(s) might be. Comfy chairs and a small table/dresser in that alcove, and sit and watch the world go by.
I think that window is begging for a window seat. If you're a reader (I am), I could see it as a cozy book nook.
Plantation shutters would look great especially if you live in the south. Cellular shades are always an option too no matter where you live. But please, no curtains! They would do nothing for that window.
A window seat might be a nice touch if you like the view. Or a rocking chair depending on whose room it is.
A daybed here would be so nice!!!
If the wall facing the window is blank (no bathroom door or closet) I would have that bed facing that great window. Another thing I totally am loving the paint color on the walls.
The room appears to be medium to maybe large sized so there is a lot you can do. Something I did and regret is I bought an armoire (taller than 5'-6"-inches) with drawers down one side and shelves behind a door on the other side. I would only ever get a 6 or 9 drawer dresser. Low means I have a dresser top to put 2 or 3 things I want out on top of dresser. Or even get a 32- to 36-inch-wide dresser and use top for nightstand next to bed.
You don't have to have 2 nightstands you can use just one.
