✨ Farmhouse hallway glow-up ✨
| DIY runner, cast iron rads & IKEA hack ✨
We’ve been slowly restoring our hallway, stairs and landing — and it’s finally time to share the transformation.
Out went the bulky old storage heaters, replaced with beautiful cast iron radiators from @electricastuk — instantly bringing warmth and authenticity back to the space. We layered in a more space-efficient mix of old + new furnishings to complement the farmhouse bones and stunning original Victorian encaustic tiles.
The stair runner was a full DIY moment: natural jute from @etsy , secured with brass stair rods — budget-friendly and so satisfying to do ourselves.
We also knocked through the old box bedroom on the landing to reinstate the original layout — and now the stairwell is filled with natural light, even on grey days.
And finally, we carved out a family library/study nook using upgraded IKEA Billy bookcases from @ikea , giving us storage and soul in one corner. Huge thanks to @carlowpainthub for their help with this glow up using their products (check out my Library highlight for more details and advice)
Full of character, full of purpose — this space finally feels like it belongs here again. 🤎
