Hey all- moving into this apartment and the living room has an odd layout. Any suggestions on the best way to design it so that it utilizes space but also doesn’t seem cluttered
Yikes, this floor plan forces so much space to be wasted on hallways and that is a very tight living/dining area. The only way I can imagine furnishing it so that you can actually have more than 1 guest over for dinner is to get one of those modern dining sets where the chairs become completely flush with the center table when pushed in. Also, you'd have to settle for a loveseat or a couch with no arms that needs to be moved over to access the mechanical area.
If dining with guests in your home is not a priority, and enjoying a large TV from the kitchen is, I'd force all my guests to eat out and arrange the entertainment to put as much space as possible between the couch :
Forgoing the dining table would also give you more places to put storage furniture like a credenza, which would greatly help with the scarce cabinetry in the kitchen.
