Hello! This is my first post so hopefully I explain my situation well. We have a colonial style home with 3 rooms at the front of the house as you walk in. If you’re standing at the front door facing in, to the left is our den with the tv. Straight ahead is the stairs to the second floor and directly to the right is the living room. To the left of the living room is where we currently have our dining room. It’s the only room in our home that has a fireplace. All of these rooms are separated by walls and door-sized openings. On the other side of the stairs is a hallway. At the end of the hallway to the left is the playroom. To the right and on the other side of the living is the kitchen. Hopefully that all makes sense. My question is: Would it make sense to move our dining room to where the living room is now? At the moment our fireplace gets no use because we’re using that room as our dining room. Ideally we’d like to use the room with the fireplace as a living/sitting room, but I think it would look odd walking into the house directly into the dining room.
