Help me choose new hardware for my kitchen!
Expert
Hi, therapists!
I'm Megan, Apartment Therapy's Home Projects Director, and I am here today with a Q I'd love your help with!
I'm considering some new pulls for my kitchen cabinets. The current silvery ones are the pulls that came with the house, and they're fine — but I think they're not the best fit for my mid-century home. Any ideas on what I should try instead?

I like this style. Sleek and modern. For drawers and cabinets. Amazon does carry them. Brushed nickel.

@MeganBakerDetloff ooo — are you interested in keeping with silver color or maybe pivoting to black? Saw these on West Elm that come in brushed nickel or matte black (the pulls not knobs). I also this collection of mid-century modern pulls from Hooks and Knobs.

@MeganBakerDetloff yes, tell us more about your style and the rest of your home….. personally, I like these pulls. They are clean and simple and very light visually… BUT they're not your style.. so tell us more.. which kitchen here do you like in our huge photo collection???
For example, is this you?1 -
The look of these matte black ones are so nice! Pairs nicely with your countertops too

Hi @MeganBakerDetloff! I found this textured, reeded black hardware from West Elm that I think is super cute!

@MaxwellRyan My home is MCM but the kitchen was added in… 2000? We think? I try to have any upgrades I make fit the MCM vibe if not the exact mid-century style, so definitely want something simple with clean lines.
I think the silver feels kind of cold, was leaning toward a brass or black style that's still very sleek. That said, the reference photo you added is really pretty!0 -
ooh the reeded finish is really cool!
