I have a couple of thoughts. First, perhaps move the chair next to the door in between the sofa and the chair on the left. Second, consider moving whatever furniture is flush against the wall away from the wall and arrange the chairs I a small semi circular shape so people can see each other and conversation can flow easily. I hope this helps!
Is it possible for people entering from the door to traverse the room without walking in front of the chair on the TV side of the room? If no, that can be extremely awkward when the living room is in use and I'd think about moving that chair forward and rotating it to face the gap between the opposing two arm chairs. The current chair angle is a little bit too directly confrontational with the couch for my taste.
I would consider flipping the layout of your existing furniture and using the longer sofa to create a hallway effect leading to that back door (so the sofa is flipped and now facing the right wall)—that way, nobody has to worry about getting in the way of the TV, and you can create more of a closed-in living room zone
As with DaniellaAraya, flip the layout etc., personally I would never have seating facing a door, only facing away from a door. What that says about my psychology I don't know. Using the sofa to define the entryway is good idea.
Chair placement implies a conversation. I would start by moving the coffee table as close to the couch as possible so you can comfortably reach it. Then turn the other chairs toward the center of the table, like people form a circle when they converse. Move the blue chair from the right side of the door around to the right side of the TV
I think a couple of lamps at different heights would add warmth too as no layout is going to be cosy if the downlighters in the ceiling are your only light source.
My thoughts exactly! If you have a sofa table to make more of hallway effect with a drop zone for keys, mail, etc.
Also, trying removing 1 chair and coffee table and replace with ottoman that can double as seating and a table.
Too many chairs. And move couch as others have suggested. Have fun
