Blank wall ideas

I have a huge blank wall in our great room (living room & kitchen). I have no idea what to do with it, putting a huge painting will cost too much and might be hard to do. We already have a photo gallery wall upstairs so maybe something else. 🤔 Need ideas, please. 😫

I’m a renter with massive high walls. I purchased those large sheets of foam insulation boards. I grabbed boards 8’x4’x1/2” I think about $9.00 each. Some will be wallpapered, some will be wrapped in fabric, some I plan on cutting down to tile on for a kitchen backsplash. The boards are light and are hung up with command strips. A bonus for me is cheap, easy using crap I’ve accumulated, and no holes in the walls. Oh and I’m commitment phobic so I can easily change the look out. Hope this helps.

I like the suggestion above on adding texture! What about decorative room divider screens or folding screens like this? You could layer it with a nice lounge chair, plant, or both! I can totally see myself lounging with a book over there

Anthropologie has a number of large wall hangings for under $200 that would be beautiful in this space. Some are more detailed, others are more subtle like this one, but either way you could show off your style and colors for not much money at all.

Either a mural, or paint the whole wall a different colour so it looks like a deliberate style choice.
I'm not a minimalist, so I don't know how much this would go against your taste. However, a bright wall with a large green plant would definitely not seem like aching acres of empty space.

I have a similar issue. I’m thinking of a pair of large, decorative, wooden wall panels that I saw on Etsy or accent paint.

Maybe a large rug, tapestry, or other fabric hanging could go there. That would add color and softness to the space. Or some large plants in pots? Could be pricey, and I don't know what the light situation is like, but a row of tall green rubber plants or scheffleras would be gorgeous!

I don't see why having a wall gallery elsewhere is an obstacle to having one here.

That said, all the suggestions sound good to me. And the solution could be as simple as hanging a nice quilt or two.
