My hallway needs a mirror??????

I live in a heritage home, and feel that my hallway is in serious need of a mirror, for practical purposes, and for aesthetic purposes. But, I have a light switch to deal with. The wall are 100 plus years, lathe and plaster with a rough finish. The entire width is 30 inches, and the light switch ends 10 inches in, so if I went just down the enter I would have a 10 inch wide mirror(including it’s frame). My husband thinks I should just hand a mirror on the inside of the closet door for “when I need it”. What height should it be?

Thank you for your consideration. Oh, and while we are at it should the wall become a gallery wall,or leave just the family photo (the house has been in our family 66 years).

Thanks again.
