Trim Transition

I am planning on painting my living room walls, base board and crown molding all the same color. My issue is…what do I do when I reach the hallway?? Do I just stop abruptly?
For example, where the living room baseboard meets the hallways baseboard, I just have two different shades meeting each other at a point?

    Hi Lisa! This is a great question and can be a tricky one. I personally think it depends on your home's layout. Would you be willing to share a pic of the living room/hallway transition to take a look?
