Cozy Nook + Storage Space?
Hi! This is my first time looking for any design advice so let me know if I'm missing any information!
I've got this nook in my house that opens up to a living space/kitchen. At first, I thought about making it a workspace for crafts/sewing but now, I'm leaning more into making it a reading corner. I'd love to include closed storage and shelving. I'm prone to making things far too cluttered and want to avoid that here! I'm a bit lost with how I'd organize the space with these ideas.
I've added a photo of what the area looked like when we first moved in! We've repainted it to a white and will be replacing the blinds eventually. For context, the back wall is around 7ft, right wall is 6.5ft and left wall is around 3.5ft.
I've acquired a reading chair and a vintage lamp (that I'll put on a side table behind / next to the chair). Realizing now the colour of the chair kinda doesn't work with the wall but I'd like to try it out (maybe will add a blanket or something!).
Anyway! I'd love to hear any ideas for this area.

Reading nooks are about my favorite thing in decorating, and you've got most of the ingredients here already. What you need: a comfy chair, a good reading light, a small side table for your drink/snack/to set down a book, and preferably bookshelves nearby.
Everything else is optional, but consider: a rug underfoot? A hassock or footrest? More plants? Access to music? (Some people prefer silence while reading, others would like music.) A throw blanket? Nice art to rest your eyes on when you look up from your book? Comfy pillows?
I like your very cool Deco-style chair, but is it comfortable for reading? I personally like to sit sideways in an armchair and throw my legs over one arm, or else sprawl on a couch. But many people like to sit up to read. Whatever works for you! Perhaps a small pillow in a bright color would help if you think the chair color is too similar to the wall color.
The chair looks good in the shallow corner, but it might also be nice in the window corner, and you could put a tall bookcase opposite on the shallow wall. Or a wide bookcase could go under the window on that wall, with a nice piece of art next to the window. Or the middle wall could be home to a large bookcase, with the chair and table on either side wall (it might depend on where you have an outlet for the lamp).
It's crucial to place the lamp where you'll get good reading light, but your particular lamp seems to offer many options for directing the light onto the page, so it should work fine. A throw can go over the back or side of the chair or live in a basket on the floor next to it, easy to reach from the chair.
You have many good options here. Have fun!
