Open cabinets

I'm looking for some creative ideas . I have open cabinets in my rental and I want to cover some of them but I don't like the idea of curtains. Has anyone done something creative to cover open cabinets? I don't have a ton of money so I'm looking for inexpensive or diy(somewhat simple or not requiring special tools).

I haven't personally tried this before, but I saw this person create a cover for her open closet shelving with foam board and contact paper, and it blew my mind! It's a different situation because this was simply to lay on top of the open wire shelving a lot of closets come with, but maybe worth a shot? You'd still need to find a way to secure the foam board to the cabinets if you wanted it to act like a door, but you could also find a way to slide it behind the middle bar

What do you plan to keep on these shelves? Would wide baskets work as pull-out drawers? Keep us posted!
