Renter looking to bring color to the kitchen nook!

Hi! Since I rent and where I am I can't find nice peel and stick backsplash solutions, I would love to paint the kitchen "nook" all one color to divide the area. For reference, the colors I have throughout the house are greens, terracotta/pinks, yellow, orange, pops of blue. I was leaning towards maybe a juicy color, but the bright white of the cabinets makes me think that might be too much contrast. I felt like stripes could be cool too, but definitely will be a project with all the nooks. Let me know what you all are thinking!

Also if you have pendant light suggestions – looking to replace the one over the table too :)

I adore the colors in your space! How do you want the area to feel? Choosing something orange/yellow could be energizing and fun. If it were me, I would go with a dusty pink AND an orange to play off the dining room table and your artwork. I also love the idea of stripes, but painting the wall behind the cabinets and fridge seems cumbersome. What if you did stripes on the top lip of the wall above everything? Something like this:

I love Farrow & Ball's Crimson Red (not an actual red!). You can get it color matched if you don't want to order directly from them. Is ordering peel and stick online an option for you at all? I don't think it's necessary for a backsplash, but it would help to have some texture there. You can always paint something yourself if you're feeling crafty 😊

As for pendant light recommendations, look on Etsy. There are so many fun options. I love this paper mache one, or this one with color and natural material. The fixture can be another way to bring color into your space!

@DanielaAraya Love your suggestions! I actually was planning on painting a striped border from the hallway to the living room(bc they don't have a divide) and I hadnt thought of continuing it on to that top lip. The crimson red is really pretty – I am going to the US soon so I will add that to my Samplize order list to get a sticker sample to match.

Yeah, unfortunately the peel and stick options I can get delivered to here in Mexico aren't the best. But, I am always keeping a look out!

Oooo I see! Yeah I love the idea of bringing the stripe border on top because it lets you bring in color in a unique way (especially if you don't end up wanting to deal with painting that back wall). Good luck! Keep us posted

Such an inviting space already.
Find a long runner rug for the kitchen floor in your choice of colors to define the area and contrast with the wood floors.
Thinking a bold design that is artistic. I had a Mexican blanket cut in half and hemmed and used two sided tape to keep it from shifting. The eye will hit this rug first and then travel upwards. Find a complimentary table cloth or placemats. Second hand stores in Mexico have many fine linens to choose from. The walls will then be a backdrop and not a focal point.

I'm thinking a peachy, coral, or terracotta color on the fridge wall. Stripes on that wall would be difficult, as well as too busy. Maybe bring in a second color that you love for that pantry cabinet, either a deep green, or a lighter or darker companion color to the wall. Something else on the same paint card. Good luck to you!
