I am expecting my second son, due this March, and need some tips on how to make our son's currently bedroom work for two! Anyone have any small-space furniture ideas or products that double your storage that would be good for us? Any tips at all would help! Thanks!

Hiya! We are a fam of 4 in a 2 bed apartment too. 9yo and 6yo share a room so I have a few things I've learned:

    1. Storage Ottoman. We use ours as a seat under a coat rack but these can work at the food of a bed or in the lounge.

    2. Pull out drawers underneath each bed.

    3. Double clothing rails and shelves in cupboards. Kids clothes don't pile as high up as adults so I added shelves and a lower rail in our built in. Alternatively...

    4. Add long shelvesin the space under where the clothes hang for storing trays with toys ala Montessori.

    5. Be ruthless about a place for everything...and don't make more places for more things. We work on the principle of limited space. So if something comes in that pushes a category of item above it's space quotient, something has to go out.

It's great fun though, works well, and is cost-effective to share a smaller space as a fam. Plus, it won't be forever. Good luck!
