This Kitchen Makeover Is So Cozy, It Almost Feels Like a Living Room

From the title, I expected to see a couch! (I love to see couches in kitchens, very English.) I miss the checkered floor though. Now the room resembles neither a kitchen nor a living room, but a really posh potting shed.

In other news, using this community for comments now is too clunky to use now, especially to start a discussion. No way to see previous comments or like or reply to someone else's comments (or at least to see comments on comments)? I wanted to try it out but it's just too much work.

OK opposite opinion time. To me, all those dark colors make the room oppressive. Much prefer the original light and airy design. Just needed a "Hoosier" cabinet on the opposite wall. Fridge could go there too, to tighten up the work triangle. Assume table and chairs are in an adjacent room.

I like it, it has character, but it looks like a movie set, its staged, i.e. the bench with the blanket on it by the window - no one would sit there., the storage under that workbench thing - what's in there, looks like fabric pieces but not very practical, its all "fake-ish". I can't imagine much cooking goes on here because there's pretty much no storage at all, unless there's cabinets at the other end that are not shown.

The limewash paint really warms up the space! And that vintage worktop is a dream. So much space to prepare things but also store belongings underneath

If I was buying this apartment, first thing I would think is "ok, I have to put in a whole new kitchen". I get the appeal of this design, but as someone who actually cooks and "accumulates things" like ingredients and pans, this is just not a room I can make food in. I also miss the black & white tile.
