Hi! So, this is my husband’s and I bedroom. When we moved in to this apartment and started buying furniture/decorating, I had the idea of making it a cozy and neutral room. I wanted to make it so cozy it would be a relief to come back to after a long day of work. That said, now I feel like it’s missing the sauce, you know? And I can’t put my hands on what it is exactly. I still want the cozy atmosphere, but I also want to be interesting.

Hi 🤗 I think it's missing texture and depth. If you want to stick with the monochromatic color scheme that's cool but it can sometimes fall flat when it's not combined with the above. A placement rug under the bed would do wonders; so would curtains to frame the window (a plantsill by floating shelves is a good alternative). I would definitely add more photos as the back drop to the bed to fit the scale of the space.

I too love neutrals, and I would get a dark brown bed cover, with either a few pillows with lots of texture, or a textured throw. The contrast will bring it to life. And it is almost there now.

How about painting the wall behind the bed a more dramatic color. You could stay neutral but something with more warmth.

Just a pillow on the bed with texture would be a start. Maybe some runners along the side of the bed if you don't want a full size rug. And the comfy throw draped "casually" at the end of the bed. Cheap easy and quick suggestions that you may think on.

You could go one of two ways - add more neutral but with more depth and texture, like a fuzzy pillow or a cozy darker brown throw on the bed, or a textured rug.

The other option is to choose a dramatic contrast color, like black or burgundy, forest green, some deep tone, and use that to layer.

Also add some more art, it can be like antique sepia prints, neutral yet intersting, or pale watercolors.

The good news is, your cat matches your theme. :)

My first thought was, "Add color!" But I see you chose the neutrals deliberately. I think you need 1 gorgeous decorative pillow for the bed in a neutral or color of your choice, maybe round, or maybe one of those long wide ones, maybe in silk, maybe with embroidery, but something that will draw the eye because it's so beautiful. I think that would "make" the room!
