Nice work - especially the wood choices - though I admit the "avocado green" looks attractive in photos.
Thank you so much!
I really like this redo. It's similar to what I want to do in my house. Is the beadboard made of individual boards or a panel? Also, are you finding that the paint holds up okay? I know there are products specifically for cupboards, but I don't always like the color choices and they can't always be tinted to a color I like. The open shelving is lovely.
What a transformation! It's so charming! The cabinet color works so well with the new countertops and other pops of color in here 😍
What color are the cabinets?
What color paint are the cabinets?
They’re Waterbury Cream by Benjamin Moore!
Aw thank you!
Thanks so much! The beadboard is made up of panels (they’re budget friendly and so far they’re holding up great!) that I highly recommend. I’ve never used specific cabinet paint before (I’ve repainted three different kitchen cabinets in the past) and never had any issue with chipping! I just always use at least an eggshell finish, primer, and two coats.
Waterbury Cream by Benjamin Moore!
I painted my kitchen cabinets (including inside!) with Valspar cabinet paint and I've been very happy with it. It's been 5+ years and no chipping. (I did prime the cabs first and used a sprayer.) The Valspar paint is much harder and more durable than plain latex so plates inside the cabs don't stick to it. I was able to get it tinted to the color I wanted.
Wonderful job, Chelsea. Can't ever go wrong with beadboard! We've used it many times for walls as well as backsplashes. Using the best quality paint (like Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams) along with sanding if needed, priming, and letting paint dry between coats, you won't have issues with chipping of peeling. The open shelving and the paint color fits perfectly in your style kitchen too. Take pride in what you have accomplished and enjoy it!
Yes, this is a perfect kitchen colour. It makes me think about a warm summer morning. Does it do well as the light changes during the day?
I've made note of the colour. I think it would work well for a nursery and children's room, or a sunroom. Why do I feel like painting a room all of a sudden.
PAINT THE ROOM!!! 😍
I can relate to your hood challenge. We'd intended to run the exhaust vent straight up through the ceiling, but the vent diameter was too large to fit between the joists. To turn the vent, we had to add cabinets above the fan to hide it. I designed it on the fly, but it turned out great.
It looks great!! Very well done!
It would absolutely work well in a sunroom/kid's room! I'm with Daniela, paint the room! ♥️
This is so sweet, thank you so much! ♥️
