This is the best! I've been eyeing that teapot for ages. Fingers crossed!!

My brother and I received little gifts on an advent calendar my grandma had knitted for us. My mom kept it simple and small — pretty pencils, erasers, hair clips, socks, or really little toys, so it was not too overwhelming for her. I loved it so much, and it was probably the only month I jumped out of bed in the mornings with enthusiasm. ;) My mom/grandma are Finnish so it definitely must be a Scandinavian tradition!

So proud! :) I'm Finnish, though I live in the States. I love that they do this. And I second the comment by Kaete — what's great is the idea behind it, of your country recognizing and welcoming your baby, a new little citizen. Aww.

My initial thought was also a paint job, possibly dark grayish blue. Maybe paint the drawer fronts a slightly different shade (or another color altogether), so that the contrast makes the eyes go first to those "masculine" corner edges of the drawers, and not the curvy, more feminine shapes elsewhere.

Oh man! That napping teddy bear edible is just too cute. Great theme!

What timing! I'm in the process of making my map to sell at my shop on etsy, both on paper and fabric! I love maps so much. It's quite hard to find an accurate, modern looking one...
