We replaced the floors of a previous home with espresso wood floors. While every spec of dust showed with young kids we selected a handscraped/distressed wood which was stunning and didn't show scratches. Oh I miss those gorgeous floors. In our current home we have honey colored wood floors which aren't quite so spectacular but they hardly show a thing. Good luck. Dark Hardwood Floors and Kids? This year I am displaying our holiday cards as wreaths. I bought huge embroidery hoops (each contains two circles for about $6) and hot-glue-gunned the cards to the hoop affixing a large satin bow at the top. I've put them up on our walls using temporary adhesive hooks that leave no mark when you take them down. This is my favorite holiday card display that I've used. I love it. I love teal, especially accents with lots of neutrals and a little black. I really like the Abby and Lucy baby dolls from PBKids. My daughter loves her Lucy and dresses her in her newborn knitted gear from Nana. I have the medium Nelson saucer lamp above our dining room table. The bottom of the saucer is 29 inches above the table. I love how it looks and feel it fulfils what Aaron describes above. I recently bought a set of 6 original Niels Møller dining chairs as pictured in beautiful condition recently on e-bay. I was the only bidder and got them for a fabulous price. PS uglyisbeautiful, any framing store in Australia should be able to cut you a mat in the size you need. You just need to select and purchase the board from them and then they usually charge a cutting fee on top of that. It should work out cheaper than international shipping. I had a great experience with www.framefit.com. I had two large etsy prints I wanted framed with white mats and plain white frames. Michaels, including their 50% discount quoted me over $500 and framefit.com charged just over $100. Sure I needed to assemble the frames myself when they promptly arrived. I'm not a DIYer but it was easy. They provided clear instructions and the results were great. I was very happy. For a very special piece of artwork I would have it framed professionally but framefit was a great affordable option that I'd definately use again. I bought day beds for my two young daughters as their first beds out of their cribs. While I love the look and idea of them, its not easy for them to make their own beds - actually its impossible - so I end up doing it and I curse buying the day beds.
