I think that the 'seen it before' problem is a little bit related to Australia's backwardness with decorating trends.

We are just starting to get a few stripey rugs in shops - whereas I have seen them in AT for a few years!

Tiny Showcase does something similar [although they have a flat donation per print run]. It makes art buying feel more warm and fuzzy.
