Love this post so much! What a wonderful, inspiring look at some of the great creativity on display. Nice contrast to all the CES tacky Booth Bunny posts I've been seeing.

I love Tender Buttons! Haven't been there in years, but it's the best resource. So glad to see they're still around.

I'm not one for gimmicky announcements.

I ran out of the bathroom waving a pregnancy stick and said "I think you should pause the football game for a minute..."

MeArt.com does some beautiful work turning photos into art and it's not all that Warhol-esque thing. Kikiandpolly.com does art more isnpired by the photo that's amazing.

There are also jewelry artists who do things that aren't heinous. Totallyoutofhand.com takes actual kids art and turns it into pins or pendants. The results are uncanny.

Also there are quite a few sites that work with silhouettes if that's more your style.

FYI Dot, we too have a few cute Ikea wooden toys - check the bottom and they're made in China too.

FYI, the pads are actually by mommytrackd.com (great site) although See Jane Work sells them as well. They're wonderful and great looking! Now if I were only organized enough to find the one I have...

Based on the comments here, I would say the chicklets are a good call because they'll open up a whole new audience for you! Your current readers are already here and don't need to search digg for your posts.

That said, some of these sites (like digg) are pretty techy and skew heavily male. Consider adding one for sk*rt which is specifically for women and in fact has a whole parenting/family category.

I have serious Stokke envy. Everyone I know who has one simply loves it. Like most modern design, it's not for everyone, but it seems the price is justified by the features and the durability.

And mama chillanga - the Bug is the best walking stroller, bar none. Worth every penny. If you live in the burbs and need to get in and out of the car quickly 18 times a day, yep, it will end up on Craig's list. But if you're a city dweller with a walking lifestyle where your stroller is essentially your car - you can't beat it.

Except perhaps by the Xplory.

Wow, I love these! Gorgeous.

(Psst...have a pale yellow nursery and a baby who doesn't cry much at all. How is that possible? I'm confounded!)

Don't worry about prices - in fact, you should register in a variety of price points from little doodads to the big ticket items. You never know how much people want to spend, or whether you have friends who want to chip in for a stroller or a crib.

You might also consider registering two places - say BRU for the basics (great return policies) and maybe somewhere stylish for decor, clothes and accessories.

One thought on registries: The only tacky thing about this post is someone who'd seek to dampen the spirits of an excited new mother-to-be. Anyone who loves you wants to get you what you want and need--and would hate to inconvenience you by making you exchange items you don't. More so than brides, new moms just don't have the time. Registries are a great way to help out the gift-givers in your life. Besides...there's no obligation to use it. It's a helpful guide.

Congrats on your future bambino and enjoy the ride!

Wow, if that looks as good in person as it does from the photo it's a fantastic deal. The lines are beautiful.

FYI - one of the really fantastic things about those Storyblox is that they'll customize them with your child's name and whatever info you'd like on the other sides (copyright free). We wrote them up here and they remain one of our favorite gift suggestions. Great find!

Beautiful! And let's not forget, the room looks pristinely blue and white now but in no time it will be filled with plenty of gifts, stuffed animals, and various doodads in myriad shades of pink.
