Not loving the red in the dining room, but all of the other pictures are stunning. I'm enjoying Country Living right now, so much more satisfying than Domino was in my opinion. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Gridley Graves' Colorful Farmhouse Country Living |

basement leaks, roof leaks, broken furnace, broken ac, tenants who are aggressive and don't give a flying crap about the property they live in but want every cent back for any expense they incur. shitty insurance companies who cause extreme stress and don't cover what they should and adjusters on the take. all this I've dealt with over in the past two years, I'm just about ready to sell up and rent. Very nice, but impersonal and lacking in soul. Like a pretty model suite or show home. Glass block wall is dated and the bedroom bordering on cheesy. The curtains are lovely as are the chandeliers and the ottoman. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Small Cool 2009: Susan's Open Plan International Division #27 |

Yes, in London where there is a serious problem. We (with our flatmates) spent thousands of pounds on sprayings but nothing worked. My flatmate, a neuroscientiest, then did some research and we discovered that vaseline on all vertical surfaces touching the ground, boric acid on the floors and removing and freezing everything in infested spaces (books clothes, everything!) is really the only thing that works. It took a lot of freezing. It worked. Apartment Therapy DC | Survey: Have You Suffered from Bed Bugs in Your Home? Washington City Paper |

This painted wood trend is just a little to cutesy estsy posterish for me. It works as an exception, not a rule. In this case, the wood looks like it's in good condition with a nice patina. Why ruin it? Apartment Therapy DC | Good Questions: Refinishing a Sidewalk Find Chair? |

That's a lovely table. A little too nice to be smashed up against some aluminum in the name of mixing it up. But I do like the crate and barrel chairs mentioned above. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Good Questions: Modern Chairs With Traditional Table? |

the ditte sofa (is that what it's called) is lovely. i have it in green but the yellow one shown looks quite like one used by Mr. Smith in a famous photo (possibly the cover of one of his books?) You know the one with the suzani draped over it surrounded by the caliber of antiques he used to decorate that Merrill Lynch office, no doubt! vogue living australia, world of interiors. but then, even country living is sometimes better than domino has been (with the exception of the delightful nick olsen - this man needs to start a blog!) my mother in law has been known to be both passive-aggressive and mean but in the end if she needed to move in with us, of course I wouldn't say no. I know she'd do the same for us, and then we'd drive each other crazy, but so be it. That's family. Apartment Therapy DC | Survey: Would Let Your In-laws Live With You? |

Lovely bed. I love Michael Smith, but I don't understand how he will redecorate for the $100 000 budget they have. A $12 000 bed already takes a pretty big chunk out of the budget. Anyone know how it works? Apartment Therapy DC | President Obama Chooses a White House Bed |

Check ebay for the bed. I almost bought one like it about a year back from a seller who upholsters vintage/antique beds and ships worldwide. I'm in Canada and she was going to reupholster and ship a bed like this to me for about $2000 (not including fabric). Good luck! Apartment Therapy Chicago | 12 Steps to Deep Clean the Bedroom |

I'm afraid this will be mean, so apologies up front. This place is boring, predictable and pretentious (just like dwell). I couldn't imagine a dwell editor living in any other place. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | SF House Tour: Sam Grawe's Designer (via Craigslist) Digs |

I love marc jacobs and wish i could afford some of his stuff (via ebay, of course, but even then it's usually out of my budget!) Like some of the above posters, I can't believe some of you don't know who he is - are you just bsing because you think you're better than being into fashion (but not "design")? as for the contemporary art debate, well, it's an old and tired debate some of these artists are brilliant and others are over rated (in my opinion) but even they are brilliant self-promoters. fine line. he can buy what he wants and i like the fact that he expressed his insecurity when he first started. it seemed quite honest and i think most people can relate to that feeling in relation to art. anyway, i'd much rather have that crappy damien hirst than all the crappy etsy cartoons in the world! (i know that they are produced by "independent" artists and there must be some good stuff on etsy, but most of what i see on these blogs is immature and boring and ugly! stop the ribba-framed etsy "art wall"! end of rant). Beware! A couple of years ago a new Ikea opened at midnight with giveaways and sales near my then house in North London. The result - a riot, complete with abandoned cars on the nearby motorway and a knifing! The were forced to shut their doors minutes after. Is an Ektorp worth your life? My reaction to this is mixed, I love the bedroom rug, the wallpaper (though agreed, more room shots would have helped) and the yellow chairs, but like the above commenter, it feels a little too contrived for me. Then there are some strange things and I can't understand why they've been chosen, like the much mentioned living room rug, and that picture over the sofa. I don't get that. Also, the curtained bed and bedding looks stuffy and formal in contrast to the carpet and other furnishings. Just my opinion, overall, I think I really like it but I'm not sure. My husband's (Italian) grandmother makes lace and has made linen sheets and tablecloths which I love. I'm always stealing them when we visit because no one seems to want them (especially the sheets). I've tried them but felt they were too rough but after reading this, I'll give them another try. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Hemstitched Italian Linen Bedding |
