Canon S95. Best compact shooter there is, don't need SLR or interchangeable lenses. Takes great HD videos too, I got rid of the flip for it.

Took them about 2 weeks plus a call to their corporate offices to get a tiny little microwave delivered. Not bad timeframe for buying a car, but for a <$100 microwave that amazon had in stock the whole time.....

I also wish their salesmen made it a little less obvious that they work on commission.

Have a dutailier. Yes comfortable, no, not well made. Warning: the nuts and washers fall off after much use. We grabbed one out of my son's mouth the other day. We've had to exchange the undercarriage 3 times.

Taryn, FYI, when you have kids you'll see that a leash is great in some situations. Keep in mind that most 22 month old Ipods don't have a strong desire to want to run away from you whether on a subway platform, a crowded city sidewalk, or even in a mall.

I would love to see some Vulcans visiting earth only to be greeted with some Meatloaf "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" on my AR. They'd think we're totally nuts and not worth their time. Frankly, pretty much anything by Meatloaf would work.

Consumer Reports has an essentials list that's great. I recommend it as a starting point to every new parent to be.

Inglesina Zippy rocks. Great stroller, true one-handed opening and closing. I did not want to do the Mclaren "lean to the floor" in order to close the thing. The zippy is much easier. Problems i've had are the basket is small, and the cup holder is good to hold a Dr. Browns 8oz bottle but not a real cup, forget like a snapple or soda.
