Guys, trust me. I'm a mom of four married daughters, who are now bringing grand children home. Meaning, I have loads of experience in this matter. We have a beautifully decorated home, and always have. We've had sofas ranging from Rowe, and Clayton Marcus, to antique recover projects, thrift store finds, and Craigslist specials. And here's my advice to you: Unless you HONESTLY intend to stick with THAT SAME SOFA for 10 YEARS, do NOT spend a ton of money on it. If you like to redecorate, as I do, don't do it. If you move frequently, it will get damaged. Don't do it. It you have kids or pets, don't do it. Read that line again. And don't even THINK about getting the ever popular WHITE sofa or WHITE SLIPCOVERED sofa if you have kids, pets, and/or people who eat or drink on the sofa. In fact, if you plan on actually USING the sofa at ALL, don't buy a white or white slipcovered sofa. You can't keep the slipcovers in the wash ALL the time.... unless you buy like 3 sets... which would be ridiculously expensive. And do not fool yourself into believing, "Yeah, but it comes with an awesome cleaning package! They'll even come out and clean it for us!" It will STILL always look like crap in between cleanings. They can't stay at your house ALL the time.
