I love 'em! I have some my great grandfather painted (and signed on the back) in our guest room. You can see em here:

(They're about halfway through the post.)

We have the CB2 pendant hanging over our kitchen island. It was a beast to get to hang straight, but I love how it looks and the price was right.

I've also drooled over that marble island.

Our dining room is pink and purple. It's definitely a break from the norm, but we love it.

That first painting would look fab in it!

I have a fun one from Society 6 called "Let's all go and have breakfast." It makes me smile.

Spring Fling: Flirt with Pink

I've used pink liberally in our dining room, most notably in satin curtains from Paris. My hubs likes it - he's an Artist/Art DIrector so he's got an appreciation for all colors. I'm lucky that way. You can see it here:

We have a teeny master bath, but I'm determined to get a double sink in there. I'm praying Ikea doesn't discontinue the Odensvik sink before we get around to remodeling!

To answer a few questions:
The Pac Man pillows are from a store called Homegrown in Decatur, GA. The paint color is Dolphin Fin by Behr. And the white bolster is from Target, several years ago. I think it is a bit longer than the width of a twin bed, however.

Thanks again for the great feedback!

Thanks, everyone for the great comments! It's a really fun space, I'm glad you like it!

@JCAP4203, do you mean the gray euro sham? I'm not totally sure what you're referring to, but that one is a Nicole Miller sham from the Bed Bath and Beyond clearance rack. The other gray sham is from West Elm. The white roll pillow is from Target, as are the yellow sheets.

We painted our guest room a dark navy. The room gets a lot of natural light, so it's still bright during the day.

And we have plates in our bedroom too, though not directly over the bed. It is a little unexpected, but I love looking at them. It's kinda like a mobile for grown-ups. :)

Add Some Dark Drama to the Bedroom

Agreed! For my blog, I am basically 100% tripod around the house now. I just leave it set up unless people are coming over. It makes a GIGANTOR difference.

I think it's a sweet shape! I've seen people wrap some of the metal with jute or twine. You could go from beneath the bobesches (the things that would catch wax if the lights were candles) all the way up to the center. Or, just wrap the "candles."

Obviously you could paint it...

I've seen some that use small, perfectly round bulbs instead of traditional chandelier bulbs. That can modernize it a bit.

Or, if you want some glam in your life, you could try to replace it with a bronze and crystal one. My Dad stalks them on Craigslist (for some reason) and says that you can find deals on 'em when people don't know what they have. He gave us one he found and we did a simple rewiring job.

Always entertaining to read the comments. I think it is a GORGEOUS space! It reminds me a bit of Erika Powell's nursery for her little girl. I love the glam and the idea of the high contrast black and white. The mirrored chest/lamp/piggy bank vignette is enviable.

I made the roman shades out of mini blinds. They look great, but I wouldn't recommend them for everyday use, since the pull cord is behind the shade and can be kind of a pain to raise and lower on a daily basis. But for a guest room, or a place where you won't be adjusting them frequently, it's a good solution.

I'm totally lucky to have an artist for a husband, but he did a painting/collage on an old door and we put it in our boys' room. (Currently leaning, will hang soon with a french cleat.) I love the big scale!

Our toothbrush chargers are in our bedroom because we don't have any outlets in our bathroom. I've found myself throwing towels on top of them in the middle of the night because of the blinking! May have to use the sharpie trick, or just charge during the day...
