Nooo! I'm going to a Tupperware party on Tuesday night. I don't need to see this temptation! ;-)

I already plan our meals too. I've been practicing my knife skills, like dicing onions and garlic. I've also been trying to plan and cook cupboard (and garden!) meals, using things we already have stocked in our cupboard, fridge and freezer and vegies and herbs from our garden. I'm proud of my almost empty cupboards! It's been a good week for the budget too. :-)

Spices! Herbs and spices! I'm all ready to make a soup from scratch, no recipe, just inspiration, and I think I've almost got it down but I've realised I don't know how to season!

I manage legs and thighs easily enough but always seem to make a hacked up mess of the breast meat. I've watched the video twice and now feel pretty confident for next time.

Lovely picture.

I've just spent the last few hours reviewing my two worst cupboards - the ones where I keep appliances, baking equipment, cutting boards, serving dishes and more.

I wish I'd taken before photos - what I thought would be a quick 20 minute job turned into a lot more. I'm proud to say I was ruthless! Everything is now cleaner, better organised and easier to access.

I took a long look at each item and decided to part with anything rusty, flaking, chipped and just plain worn (inspired by one of the links from the previous Kitchen Cure post). It made a lot of space... ;-)

Tackling the bathroom today!

I've already made a list of the bits and pieces I'd like to buy: a ceramic hand soap dispenser to replace the plastic supermarket one, a hook to hang the basin hand towel and some nice bath salts.

Next task on the list is to de-clutter the cabinets before the big clean.

My husband and I visited our city's biggest produce market yesterday. It was our wedding anniversary (any trip out without toddlers can be special). We wandered about looking at all the unusual (to us) vegetables, spices and seafood and came home with some nice cheeses, salami, boxes of apples (husband wants to try making cider) and masses of garlic, root vegies and bananas.

The husband spent last night telling anyone who would listen that my anniversary present was a 10 kg bag of onions...

We use puff pastry to write our children's names on top of any family-size pie we make. It uses up the scraps of pastry and entertains the babies. :-)

Compliments to Sara Kate and all of the other bloggers on the frequency and volume of posts, links & information so far! I've really enjoyed sitting down with a coffee this morning and working my way through all the great ideas.

Now I'm off to make some slow cooker stock! :-)

Wow. I just halved the condiments living in my fridge door...

How is everyone going?

My motivation kicked in last week and I've been working through my list of jobs pretty steadily for the last few days. When it all gets too much I sit down with my AT book, an Easter egg and a cup of tea! :-)

I did a few things in the kitchen. I washed the tops of the cupboards and my "Display Corningware" (ha ha) and I cleaned the oven (I used bicarb soda, vinegar and elbow grease: there's my 2 cents on that contentious topic).

I cleaned the TV cabinet and the cabinet where we keep our computer and office stuff and my husband even got in on the act, washing down all of our windows, inside and out.

We bought new blinds for the bedroom - previously one window had the original, plastic, mouldy roller blind and the other was bare. Now they are covered in lovely fresh, clean calico romans- so motivating that I cleaned the bedroom from top to bottom this morning. Who knew bed frames could get so dusty? All the bedding is in the dryer as I type (it's rainy here). I can't wait to remake the bed and snuggle up tonight! :-)

Next up it's children's bedrooms (organising toys...groan) and the bathroom.
