I don't think Gursky got the 3 million- it was whatever collector bought it at the gallery for the $50,000 it probably originally cost.

I had an old high school friend find me on myspace and he proceeded to tell me how the house I grew up in was torn down and replaced with a hideous McMansion that stretches to every edge of the property lines. I don't think I need to see that or meet the people responsible for it.

Sorry but this looks really tacky to me. It's a crafty idea for coverage in a pinch but you better buy some real window treatments in the morning.

I saw that chair a few months ago at the gift show downtown. It wasn't terribly uncomforable but after a few minutes I definitely wanted to get up out of it.

I was told it is made in a mold, not made by hand.

To be honest I passed on it because it seems like the type of thing that will show up in those thai teak stores in the next year, just like all that faux burl wood furniture is now. More of a gimmick than anything else.

I stop into a thrift store nearly every day of my life. There have been some amazing finds in my 6 years of LA thrifting. I can tell you that in all the times I have been to St. Vincents.. after all the hype and promises.. I have never found a single thing there. It is so far out of the way and inconvenient and it is picked over by east side hipsters. I have had more luck at the little shop across the street that probably buys from St Vincent every morning.

LOVE this store- he has some really spectacular pieces. And it's just up the street from Wertz Bros which is convenient. The photos don't do it justice.
