I would suggest something similar to what HollyR proposed...
Put the sofa facing the window with a console behind it and use the nook for artwork (or possibly floor lighting...it may feel too unanchored there). Perhaps you could put the TV on a piece of furniture under the window. The long bedroom wall could have two small scale chairs and a table with lamp.
The TV may not be centered on the sofa, but I think the window and fireplace side of the room will feel balanced, as well as the room overall.

On its own it is not distinctive, but perhaps you could buy one of those CB2 pendant lamps and paint some sort of graphic pattern on it.

I second the tin ceiling look... you could install them rotated 45 degrees for a diamond pattern.

Also, I know you were hesitant about glass tile, but I think it would be an excellent idea. Perhaps some longer tiles in a more matte tone...you could even install them vertically. I like these colors for you, but I'm sure others would work well too... http://www.theglassmosaicoutlet.com/tsunami.html

That sofa is from Room & Board. It is from the Dean collection. Looks like it is $1699 in that size and fabric.
