I like it. It looks decorated by someone who does something in their home other than decorate. Apartment Therapy The Kitchen | Kitchen Tour: At Home in Paris with David Lebovitz |

Green is good. The exterior is clean and the bath is nice, but I'm not seeing anything exemplary at these prices. I don't usually like to express my opinion with analogies, but I have to agree with the Michelin Man comment regarding the living room furniture. I'm especially not loving the heavy handed cleverness with the "Office with acoustical matting as a decorative element". Maybe I would have a better impression in real life, but based on these photos, you can't say "trend surfing, nouveau riche" any louder than this. During the "high-tech" decorating craze of the late 70's, "real" (as opposed the Target kind) lab jars were prerequisite in any picture of a "high-tech" style kitchen or bath. They were almost always accompanied with with Metro shelving and Johnsonite black rubber flooring. Kind of like a "spa-style" bath is today. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Look! Give me a vacuum with a bag any day. Why fill a container with dirt, then remove the dirt from the container into a bag, when the dirt can just go into a bag! Also, the outside of vacuums get dirty, just try wiping down the "baroque" exterior of a Dyson as compared to a functional design like this. And don't get me started on the transparent dirt chambers on most vacuums now! They only look good on the store shelf! Apartment Therapy New York | Thursday Giveaway: Oreck XL Ultra Vacuum#comments |

I just went to Peir 1 and purchased two "Accent" tables. They had a number of a similar styles to what your looking for, but not white. Perhaps worth checking out. The ones I purchased would not be of interest to you, but others might be. They are called "Tulip" and are small Saarinen knock-off's with a bronze patina and an interesting copper colored, patterned top. I'm planning a bathroom using some IKEA components. I love the big Höllviken sink and am considering using their one of their faucets as well, but am unsure of the quality and longevity. Don't sell anything yet. Move in. Live with stuff. Don't think about the pictures you've seen in catalogs, magazines and the web. See what happens. Do what moves you. This is what makes for an interesting room. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | SF Good Questions: Help With My Ugly New Carpet? |

At this point I say it would be best not to use it. The surface is very crazed, and while not toxic, flecks of porcelain in your food can present a problem. If it's not flaking then you could try the Bar Keepers Friend cleanser suggestion and then seasoning it as you would any cast iron pan because it will re-rust quickly. I don't know if the seasoning process would work on the formerly porcelain coated cast iron and it may cause an unattractive film on the remaining porcelain. If you have a proper place to remove shoes, a proper place for the shoes, and impeccably clean and fresh slippers, it's not rude for your guests. It's not simply about being fanatical about your wood floors, it goes beyond that. It's arrogance to assume the position that because it's not your custom, it's rude when asked to follow it in someone else's home. I live in Orlando and and non-sensical as it sounds rents are alarmingly close to this. A 500 sq. ft one bedroom with W/D in a dull, tatty apartment complex goes for 800, in town 900-1100...WTF!? It's ORLANDO! Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Metro 417 Apartment: 345 sq. ft of...Luxury Living? |

Richlite is beautiful and practical. It's a solid surface made from paper, has a natural look and comes in a muted color palette. Beside high heat resistance, it's "quiet" and easier on ceramics because it's not as hard as stone or concrete. It's also quite sanitary and is used in a lot of commercial applications. Your high school lab tables were probably made of it. I'm the practical type so my second choice is laminate for small kitchens. Not the most beautiful, but it has no maintenance issues.
